The Verein für Internationale Jugendarbeit Frankfurt am Main e. V. supports young people on their path towards educational and professional independence. The association’s work is guided by the aim of providing orientation and fostering individual development – regardless of background, religion or gender. As a non‑profit organisation, it combines educational programmes with voluntary engagement.

Accompanying young people during transition phases

A particular focus is on accompanying young people during transition phases, especially when moving from school into vocational training or employment. Rather than short‑term interventions, the emphasis is on continuous support, realistic perspectives and reliable points of contact. For young people who receive little support at home or who find it difficult to navigate the German education system, this kind of guidance can be crucial.

School project JUSTAment

One concrete example of this work is the school project JUSTAment. Within this programme, students in grades 8 and 9 are supported during their vocational orientation phase by so‑called SeniorPartners.
These volunteers help young people to define their own goals, explore career options and plan next steps. and they assist students, for example, in searching for internships and during the application processes or in finding a training position. The focus is on building self‑confidence, encouraging personal responsibility and developing a realistic assessment of the next stages in their development.

Beyond the content‑related work, associations like also face organisational and technical challenges.

We are pleased to have been able to support the association in this context with selected technical real‑estate‑related topics as part of a small pro bono engagement.
Thanks also to Birgit Lenzen, Board Member responsible for Fundraising, for the constructive exchange and for reconnecting with earlier professional points of contact.
